Disability Awareness
Disability Awareness presented through The Arc of Tri-
Cities “Count Me In” Puppets. Performances are now
available to be booked by your school for the 2007/2008
school year. “Count Me In” Puppets are a fantastic way for
children to learn about differences. Through education we
can bridge the gap of understand and expectants. We are
looking forward to bringing this awareness to your school.
Each of the puppets represents a child with developmental
disabilities; some disabilities apparent and some hidden.
The puppets are child-size in stature and make it very easy
for children to relate to. The puppets demonstrate through
their interactions that all of us are different and want to be
included. The puppets educate through skits that provide
information in a fun, non-threatening manner. The puppets
are not only cute and entertaining; they can be instrumental
in changing attitudes.
The developmental disability skits for this season focus on
children who are blind, have ADHD, epilepsy, Cerebral
Palsy, Down Syndrome. In 2008,Tourette Syndrome
awareness presentation will be available. The emphasis of
each skit is a positive one.
