Pre-Vocational
The Pre-Vocational service is a
pathway to employment. Individuals of
working age (as defined by DDD Policy
4.11) are provided Pre-Vocational
support services with the goal of
moving towards integrated
employment. Pre-Vocational supports
are based on self-directed goals which
include the development of skills. Skills
are developed through learning and
practicing work tasks, hands on
training, and community involvement
through volunteering.
Pre-Vocational Services provides
individuals with tangible
pre-employment skills that can be used
to enter the workforce, including
transition to Goodwill Industries and/or
Columbia Industries supported
employment services. The service is
also provided to high school students
(Pre-Vocational Student Services) ages
18-21 as a work experience and as
part of their transition from school to
work.
